This is the first blog post in English at Statistrikk. The content is simply snapshots of the slides of my invited talk at the Nordic statistical meeting in Tartu, NORDSTAT2018.
For those who were there: The files for my three teaching tricks are added at the bottom of this post.
The title of the presentation points to two things: The construction of a confidence interval, and enhancing the students’ self confidence in statistics.
As any presentation for students should, mine also started with some examples:
Confidence in polls and politicians: Elections in the U.S.A.
Confidence in decisions: Counting humpback whales in Norwegian waters
Kissing partners cards and the CLT
